This notice provides general information about the collection and processing of personal data by DPG Deutsche Pfandsystem GmbH ("DPG") in the course of its business. Furthermore, this notice contains the conditions for the use of DPG's websites.

In addition to this information, the DPG may provide further, supplementary information for special processing operations, in particular with details of the respective processing, processing purposes, the categories of data concerned, the recipients of these data, the legal basis of the processing and the storage period.

Part 1: Processing of personal data at the DPG

In the course of the DPG's business activities, personal data is collected from the following groups of persons in addition to the data collected through the use of websites and cookies and through registration (see Part 2 of the General Data Protection Notice):

  • System participants in the DPG system (in particular initial distributors, collectors, claimants, system partners, users of DPG ink, manufacturers of DPG ink, manufacturers of DPG collection devices, manufacturers of QA units, manufacturers of readout units, counting centre operators, clearing service providers, certification bodies for counting centres, for DPG machines and for users of DPG ink).
  • Business partners, contact persons of business partners and
  • Other interested parties (including applicants, consumers, representatives of authorities and the press)

in particular through e-mail contacts, by post, fax as well as telephone and personal conversations are recorded and processed.
For special processing situations, the respective information in Part 2 of this General Data Protection Notice applies in addition.

1. Data

The following categories of data may be collected and received:

  • Name, first name
  • Employer or client, company
  • Contact details: Address, e-mail address, telephone, fax
  • Content of communication

The DPG does not process any special categories of data; please ensure that you do not provide us with any sensitive data. Furthermore, the offer of the DPG is only addressed to persons over 18 years of age.

2. Recipients of data

The DPG uses order processors to process your data. Furthermore, system participants may have access to your data to the extent necessary for the functioning of the DPG system. Recipients may also be located in countries outside the EU where there is no level of data protection equivalent to that in the EU. However, where necessary, DPG has concluded standard data protection clauses for the transfer of personal data from the Community to third countries in accordance with Art. 46 para. 2 lit. c DS-GVO with the recipients of the data in such countries in order to ensure an adequate level of data protection. 3. Purpose of processing

DPG processes the data collected or transmitted to it for the purpose of conducting its business activities, in particular for the purpose of establishing and fulfilling contracts with system participants and with other business partners as well as for business communication. Insofar as you do not provide the data required for the conclusion or fulfilment of a contract, this may in individual cases result in a contract between you and DPG not coming into existence or not being able to be continued.

4. Legal basis / Legitimate interests

If consent is given for the processing of personal data, Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR serves as the legal basis. When processing personal data for the initiation or performance of a contract with a data subject, Art. 6 (1) (b) DS-GVO is the legal basis. Insofar as processing is necessary for the fulfilment of legal obligations of the DPG (such as retention obligations), the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c DS-GVO. Furthermore, personal data is processed to safeguard the legitimate interests of the DPG and third parties in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DS-GVO. Legitimate interests include the functioning of the DPG's IT system, the marketing of the DPG's services and the legally required documentation of business contacts.

5. Consent and revocation procedures

You may revoke your consent to the collection and use of personal data at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent up to the revocation or on the basis of other grounds for permission. The revocation should be sent to: info@dpg-pfandsystem.de.

6. Storage period

The personal data of the data subjects shall be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the processing or storage ceases to apply. Storage beyond this period shall only take place as long as and insofar as this has been provided for by the European or national legislator in Union regulations, laws or other provisions to which the DPG is subject.

7. Automated decision making including profiling

You will not be subject to any decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling.

8.  Your rights

You have the right to obtain information from DPG about the personal data in question, as well as the right to correction, deletion or restriction of processing, as well as portability of your data. In addition, you have a right of appeal to a data protection authority of your choice.



Part 2:  Special processing situations

I. Providing the DPG website

In order to provide the retrieved individual pages of our website and the functionalities of these individual pages, it is necessary for us to process your data.

1. Data

The following data is collected in order to provide the individual pages of our website and the functionalities of these individual pages:
- Information about the browser used (type/version),
- information about the resolution of the target device,
- the IP address of the user,
- search terms entered,
- the name of retrieved files,
- the amount of data transferred,
- the access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)

2. Purpose of processing

The processing of the data serves the purpose of providing the retrieved individual pages of our website and the functionalities of these individual pages.

3.  Storage period

Your data will not be stored for the aforementioned purposes. However, please note the information on logging your data when accessing our website according to the following section II of this Part 2.

4.  Legal basis / legitimate interests

The legal basis of the data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 letter f DS-GVO (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest lies in the aforementioned purposes of data processing.

II.  Logging of data

Each time a user accesses an individual page and each time a file is retrieved from our website, the DPG's IT systems automatically record data and information from the calling medium and store this in a log file on the respective DPG server.

1. Data

The following data is recorded in a log file:
- Information about the user's browser (user agent),
- Date and time of access,
- designation of the accessed files,
- access status (status code),
- In the event of an error, the following is also logged: IP address of the client.

2. Processing purpose

The data stored in log files are used exclusively for error analysis and correction, to improve our website and to clarify any misuse of our website. The data in the log files are not stored together with other personal data of the users.

3. Legal basis / Legitimate interests

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) f DS-GVO (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest lies in the aforementioned purposes of data processing.

4. Storage period of log files

Log data is anonymised after 30 minutes.

II. Registration

On its website, the DPG offers system participants the opportunity to register by providing personal data.

1. Purpose of processing

The DPG uses its registration as the basis for electronic business communication with system participants.

2. Data

The following access data and data from the input mask are collected during registration:- Name, first name
- Employer or client, company
- Contact details: Address, e-mail address, telephone, fax
- IP address of the calling computer
- Date and time of registration

3. Legal basis / Legitimate interests

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) f DS-GVO (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest lies in the aforementioned purposes of data processing.

4. Storage period of log files

Log data is anonymised after 30 minutes.

III. Use of technically necessary cookies

Cookies are used on the DPG website. Cookies are files that are stored on the medium used by the user. When a user accesses a DPG website, a cookie may be stored on the user's medium. Cookies allow unique identification of the medium when the website is called up again.
Without your consent, we only use such cookies insofar as this is necessary for the purpose of providing the accessed individual page of our website or the functionalities of this individual page. The legal basis of the data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 letter f DS-GVO (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest in data processing lies in the aforementioned purposes. These cookies are so-called session cookies. They are deleted as soon as you close your browser.
The storage of cookies can be deactivated or restricted by setting the Internet browser or the Flash Player. Cookies that have already been stored can be deleted by the user at any time. If cookies are deactivated or deleted, it may no longer be possible to use all the functions of the DPG website to their full extent.

Insofar as cookies are not required for the provision of the retrieved individual page of our website, the functionalities of this individual page or file, the processing is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 letter a DS-GVO, which you give us via a cookie banner.

The use of cookies is described in more detail in the following paragraphs of this Part 2.

IV Use of the portal for system participants

The DPG offers system participants the opportunity to log on to and use the portal for system participants via the website. The access data will be communicated to the system participants by the DPG.

1. Data

When registering for and using the portal for system participants, the following data is collected:
- First name, last name, company, participant number
- User name = e-mail address
• Password
In the event of a successful login to the portal for system participants, a cookie will be set by our server on your end device. This allows our server to determine that you are logged in to the portal. Without the cookie, you would not be able to switch between the subpages of the portal after logging in to the login area. The cookie is a so-called session cookie. It is deleted as soon as you close your browser, but at the latest after 30 minutes.

2. Purpose of processing

The processing of personal data in the context of registration on the portal and its use serves the purpose of providing the functionalities of the portal to the system participants.

3. Legal basis / legitimate interests

The legal basis for data processing for sole traders as system participants is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 letter b DS-GVO. For the contact persons for legal entities and partnerships as system participants, the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 letter f DS-GVO (legitimate interest). The DPG has a legitimate interest in enabling the contact persons at system participants to use the portal within the framework of the contractual relationship existing with them.

4. Duration of storage

The data will be deleted immediately as soon as and insofar as the purpose of the processing or storage no longer applies. Storage beyond this period will only take place as long as and insofar as this is provided for by the European or national legislator in Union regulations, laws or other provisions to which the DPG is subject.

V. Requesting the conditions of participation

On its website, the DPG offers interested parties as initial contactors and return customers the opportunity to request the conditions of participation for the DPG system by filling out a contact form and providing personal data.

1. Data

When using the contact form, the following data is collected:
- Company
- Address of the company
- Name of the contact person of the company
- Business e-mail and telephone number

2. Purpose of processing

The DPG uses the data provided via the contact form to send the conditions of participation and, insofar as the interested party wishes to conclude a contract on the basis of the conditions of participation for the DPG, for the purpose of deciding on the conclusion and implementation of the contract.

3. Legal basis / legitimate interests

The legal basis for data processing for individual entrepreneurs as system participants is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 letter b DS-GVO. For contacts with legal entities and partnerships as system participants, the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 letter f DS-GVO (legitimate interest). The DPG has a legitimate interest in processing the request via the contact form..

4. Storage period

The data will be deleted immediately as soon as and insofar as the purpose of the processing or storage no longer applies. Storage beyond this period will only take place as long as and insofar as this is provided for by the European or national legislator in Union regulations, laws or other provisions to which the DPG is subject.

VI. Contact by e-mail and telephone

The DPG offers visitors to its website the opportunity to contact it via the e-mail addresses and telephone numbers provided there.

1. Data and purpose of processing

Neben der bei der Kontaktaufnahme genutzten E-Mail-Adresse oder Telefonnummer verarbeitet die DPG die bei der Kontaktaufnahme angegebenen weiteren Daten. Die DPG nutzt diese Daten zum Zwecke der Bearbeitung der jeweiligen Anfrage.

V. Use of Matomo

1. Data and purpose of processing

With your consent, DPG uses "Matomo" on its website for statistical analysis. This is a tool for web analysis. Matomo does not transmit any data to servers outside the control of DPG.
Matomo uses so-called cookies. These are text files which are stored on your computer and which make it possible to analyse the use of the website. For this purpose, the information on usage obtained through the cookie is stored on DPG's server so that usage behaviour can be evaluated. Your IP address is anonymised immediately after collection and you therefore remain anonymous as a user. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is not passed on to third parties.
We use the information gained via Matomo about the use of the DPG website for the purpose of optimising our web offering.

2. Legal basis / legitimate interests

 The legal basis for data processing is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 letter a DS-GVO).

VI. Links to other websites

The online offer contains links to other websites (e.g.: HDE, BVE, BMU, EU portal, UBA.) The DPG has no influence on the content of third-party websites. The DPG accepts no responsibility for third-party content that can be accessed via links and does not adopt their content as its own. The respective provider or operator of the websites is always responsible for the content of the linked pages. If we become aware of any infringements, the DPG will remove such links immediately.
